After losing league matches against Old Centralians and Royal Wootton Bassett Chippenham took their frustration out against Trowbridge in this Davis Access Bath Combination Cup match. Trowbridge opened the scoring with a Tom Weaver penalty early on and scored again after Chippenham forwards forced their way over in their first visit to the Trowbridge 22. Trowbridge had territorial advantage during the first half but against the run of play Chippenham scored again to make the score 12-5 at the break. The second half started evenly with both sides playing entertaining rugby. Chippenham introduced ex Bath scrum half Chris Cook, but he did not influence proceedings greatly apart from providing a link between the forwards and the backs. Weaver kicked a penalty to narrow the gap but the hosts responding with two tries in quick succession before scoring two more converted tries. Trowbridge replied when Rory Murchison scored after a break from the base of the scrum and Ethan Hutt pounced on a Chippenham mistake in the centre. Weaver and Archie Robertson converted these to make the score more respectable and the match finish finished with the score 36-23.
