Thank You Oz

Today we want to take a moment to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to Oz Grant, who is stepping down from his role as 2nd Team Head Coach at the end of the season, to spend more time with his family.

Oz’s contribution to Trowbridge Rugby Club goes far beyond any single role or season. Over many years, he has dedicated countless hours to this club, giving his time, energy, and expertise across all levels of the game. From coaching minis and juniors through to seniors, Oz has played a vital role in the development of players at every stage of their rugby journey. From first touches of a rugby ball to stepping out onto the pitch at senior level, Oz has been there - guiding, encouraging, demanding high standards, and always putting the club first.

His passion, commitment, and belief in the values of Trowbridge RFC have been unwavering. Week in, week out - in all weathers - Oz has given his time selflessly, often working behind the scenes, helping to shape not just better rugby players, but better people. The respect he commands across the club, from players to coaches to supporters, is a true reflection of the impact he has had on so many individuals over the years.

As 2nd Team Head Coach, Oz continued to lead with integrity, care, and a deep understanding of what this club stands for. One of the standout moments of his time in the role was guiding the 2nd Team to a league title, undefeated - a fantastic achievement that reflected his leadership, attention to detail, and ability to bring the very best out of his players. Winning the league was not just about results on the pitch, but about building a strong squad culture, fostering togetherness, and instilling pride in wearing the Trowbridge shirt.

His influence will be felt long after he steps away from the role. The standards he set, the players he developed, and the relationships he built form a legacy that runs right through the heart of the club.

While we’ll miss seeing him on the touchline, we fully support his decision to focus on family, and we wish him nothing but happiness and success in this next chapter.

From everyone at Trowbridge Rugby Club: thank you, Oz, for everything you’ve given to the club. Your time, your passion, your leadership, and your commitment - including a league title with the 2nd Team - will never be forgotten

“STAND BY”
