A powerful display from Trowbridge against Southern Counties North league leaders Bletchley handed them the Southern Counties Intermediate Cup and put them within two wins of a national final at Twickenham.
In poor conditions the home forwards took total control from the very first scrum. Adam Sullivan took the ball from the base of the scrum braking through the visitors defence to set up Trowbridge first try sending Jackson Zsabo in out wide Lloyd Davis adding the coversion, try number two came from a poor defensive kick giving the hosts the lineout, from the lineout a Trowbridge rolling maul pushed the visitors back over their own line for prop Sean Jones to touch down, Davis again adding the extra's. Jackson Zsabo was the next to score demonstrating his lightning pace as he rounded the Bletchley defence to score an unconverted try out wide, Davis did covert a successful penalty to end the first half 22-0.teve
Bletchley put the hosts under pressure from the kick off, a poor catch by the home pack gave the visitors a scrum and against the run of play Bletchley pushed the home pack back over their line allowing Steve Allen to score an unconverted try,with the elements against them the hosts gave away another penalty and Bletchleys Adam Fox crashed through to score their second unconverted try. From a yellow card offence and a penalty from the resulting scrum the Bletchley defence was unable to stop Kyle Knights tap and go unconverted try.The final score came from another Jackson Zsabo break putting James Macfarlane in under the posts giving Davis an easy conversion to end the game 34-10.
