Trowbridge ran in three first half tries in the first twenty minutes to turn what looked like being an even game into a stroll. They took an early lead when full-back Ashley Chalk rounded the Corsham defence and crossed the line out wide for the game’s first points the conversion was missed but the visitors continued to pressure the home defence from the restart, with Trowbridge forwards and backs playing some good rugby and taking play into the Corsham 22 area which opened up the home sides defence letting Chalk in for a second try under the posts giving fly-half Lloyd Davis an easy conversion for the extra's, to their credit Trowbridge could have defended their twelve point lead and waited for half-time but they continued to pressure Corsham stretching their defences until winger Lewis Jordan ran in for try number three Davis again adding the extra two points, with half-time immanent Trowbridge were awarded a penalty that Davis converted to end a poor first-half for the home team who were kept scoreless thanks to a resolute Trowbridge defence.

Trowbridge started the second half at pace taking control by winning the rucks and driving the mauls deep into the Corsham half until number eight Shane Johnstone broke off the back of a maul to score near the Corsham posts with Davis once again adding the conversion only for Johnstone to score his second within ten minutes with a pushover try from a scrum on the Corsham line the conversion was missed but this seemed at last to wake the Corsham side who started playing some good rugby, attacking the Trowbridge defence probing for a week spot only to leave themselves exposed out wide allowing Joe Knight in for the visitors final try the conversion was again missed.

Into the final quarter and Corsham continued to pressure the Trowbridge defence until eventually Peter Hynes forced his way over the line to score and with the final kick of the game Chris Ferret added the conversion.
