Trowbridge v Frome

Fourth in the league Trowbridge ran in 10 tries, 2 penalty tries, and 20 points from the boot of Lloyd Davis in a comfortable rout against local rivals Frome. Pacey winger and man of the match James Mcfarlane bagged himself a hat trick with further scores from Barry Coombs, Matt Howard, Shane Johnstone, vetran Mark Durant, Ashley Chalk, Adam Sullivan, and Tom Weaver.

For the first quarter of the game both sides looked about even until Trowbridge using the blustery conditions to full advantage kept pinning the visitors back in their own half started to take control pushing the Frome forwards in rucks, mauls, and lineouts forcing them to make mistakes in defence that lead to the two first half penalty try’s to end the first half 38-0.

Starting the second half against the elements should have put the home side under pressure but not even the weather could slow them down with forwards giving no quarter at the rucks and mauls and linking up in support of the backs they gave what has to be their best performance of open running rugby this season to score another 42 points and end the game with their highest score with in living memory against a Frome side.
